TK7 is the last Static Launch Platform (SLP) remaining to the survivors of humanity in this Gossamer, located 60° forward of Earth on the same eliptical, approximately 30,000,000km. For the last century noble fighters have fought against the alien incursions, bright mecha striding across the land, soaring through the skies, diving deep beneath the seas. The elder statesmen of the Third Alliance claim that the Scourge have always been after the Earth's resources, but unfortunately they've never been very good at identifying which resources. One claims rare metals, another water, a third suggests people themselves. After fighting this long, no one is truly sure.

The hard facts of the matter are that the Scourge seem to be looking for something that they haven't found yet. The Third Alliance of Humanity does what it can for the remaining population but on TK7 they're insulated from the life that the survivors live. The hydroponics pods produce a surplus for the station's numbers and while meat is an infrequent luxury, the Alliance and her military arm, the Tactical Assault Strike Command, have long supplemented their proteins.

The other hard truth in 2317 is that humanity is losing the war. The images of bright shining mecha is propaganda. There are 26 battle units in the Alliance's arsenal, of which at least four are under maintenence at any given time. Most deployments are of two mecha and no more, over incursions on the planet's surface for what resources remain or when the Scourge seem close to finding whatever it is they're looking for.
