Convention Games

A gaming convention is typically a short term (week or less) event at which people play role-playing games, collectible card games, miniatures wargames, board games and many other types of games. Games at these events are generally scheduled for time-slots of anywhere from 2-8 hours, though longer slots are not unheard of. Most of the games are one-shots- that is, the setup and resolution is scheduled during the one session of the game. There are exceptions to both of the previous statements, however- some convention games are actually campaigns that run from year to year at the convention, and some games actually occupy multiple time-slots, sometimes on multiple days.
