One day, after Eric had begun seriously to press his claim on the throne, he rode into Amber with a dark-haired, blue-eyed woman in tow. He presented her as his daughter, and soon thereafter, Larissa Rohl, late of the Trader space empire, began a new career as diplomat to the Golden Circle. Larissa was wildly successful as an ambassador, though less so as an Amberite. By nature a peacemaker and by preference a vegetarian, she had a rocky time adjusting, both to medieval life, and to a family with a cavalier attitude toward life and liberty for anyone who was not them. Either an optimist or a masochist, Larissa persevered. And when Chaos arrived in force, true to form, she sued for peace. This made her a traitor in the eyes of many, but Larissa had little more than a scornful raised eyebrow for those who would rather have seen Amber in flames than under Chaosian colors. A century has passed, and Larissa still keeps a diplomatic smile, a soft voice, and her own counsel.
