PetraIndex | Time Under Chaos | Player Characters | Petra Previously unknown daughter of Benedict and Madam of The Ramblin' Queen "Love is a lie and Luck is a jade." ~sign in Petra's office. Petra was stumbled upon and brought to Amber by Merlin and his croonies after a night spent in Cornaro at Mansion dei Piaceri Terrosi. Seeing a picture of Petra, Merlin had managed a conversation with Petra's mother, Maria, before the evening degenerated into debauchery and declared Petra a long lost daughter of Benedict, based on the descriptions of the tall, lanky outsider with brown hair and hazel eyes who had visited for a week once many years ago. Petra was immediately summoned from The Jade and brought to them. It took some convincing, but she eventually agreed to leave all she had known and return with the group to Amber. It was soon apparent that beyond being a tall brunette with hazel eyes, Petra was nothing like Benedict. She remained a part of Merlin's group of drinking buddies and she drinks, gambles (usually winning) and parties as hard as the rest of them. Despite her own time being tutored at The Jade, she can have a biting and sometimes cruel sense of humor and is often painfully blunt with her opinions. She says it weeds out those who don't honestly want to know her. Seeing a need to fill, she met with few nobles from Amber and the Golden Circle to gauge interest in her idea: The Ramblin' Queen, an elegant floating bordello and entertainment venue. She is the sole owner and doesn't much care what anyone else thinks about her business. The fact that it has been very successful does the talking for her. While often there herself in her capacity of owner and hostess, she usually leaves the day to day running of the establishment to Antonia Valerio. When not onboard The Ramblin' Queen or hanging out with guys, Petra can often be found wandering the Artists Quarters and museums down in the city. She is herself an artist of impressive talent and a few of her works decorate the walls of The Ramblin' Queen. If this talent extends to the Art of Trump, Petra has never said. She returns to Cornaro at least every couple of months to visit and is happy to take along company when she does. Though not very well known by any outside her staff, Petra holds the hereditary title of the Marchesa of Tuscia-Lombardy. She is the last recognized heir of Tuscia's Ancient House of Rossini, which is a far more important title to those of Cornaro who are close to her then 'bastard child of a missing Amber Prince'. With the recent rumors of her mother's failing health, it's also about to become a lot more important to Petra. |
