MorganIndex | Time Under Chaos | Player Characters | Morgan  Morgan is the son of Deirdre. He was raised in the Unicorn Nebula, aboard his mother's ship Star Axe. He was still very young when she left to take part in the Chaos War, and she met his demands to accompany her with a gentle laugh and the promise that she would take him to Amber, the most glorious of all cities, as soon as she had seen to the defeat of the forces of Chaos. He never saw her again. The years passed, and Morgan grew to manhood and took command of his mother's ship. Deirde, Queen of the Space Pirates, became a legend, and her son, Dread Morgan, took her place as the most feared marauder of the Unicorn Nebula and the Hundred Systems. Having never walked the Pattern, Morgan was unable to leave the shadow where he had been raised. Perhaps he would eventually have grown tired of the life of a space pirate and turned to something more constructive, such as empire building. Or empire destroying, he was already starting to make forays into the area claimed by the Stellar Empire when he was discovered by an agent of Mandor's, sent to investigate rumors the Prime Minister had discovered of an unknown child of Deirdre's. Mandor disliked dangling loose ends, and he pulled this one back in and tucked it firmly away in Amber. Morgan learned of his mother's death, the fall of Amber to Chaos, and the destruction of the Pattern all at the same time. He has let few people close to him since then, spending the decades in a mad whirl of thrill-seeking and hedonism. He has become a close friend of his cousin Merlin, had innumerable affairs, and made several fortunes via gambling, fortunes which he as quickly squandered away. Morgan is noted for his love of pleasure, his incredibly good luck, and his deadliness in a duel. Morgan is played by John Barrowman. |
