Niccolo

Index | Time Under Chaos | Player Characters | Niccolo

Niccolo d’Medici is a capitalist.

Some would say rabidly, ruthlessly, rapaciously so. He has been called an investor, a profiteer, a venture capitalist in polite circles. He has been called a Banker, and while this is also true, it simply is not enough to fully define the width and breadth of his accomplishments. Niccolo has had business ventures in Amber and Shadow for some time now, he seems to have entered the scene a few decades ago, from Shadows beyond the Golden Circle, though he is known to have Circle and even Rebman interests here and there. It would seem that while he is seen in and about the Golden Circle, he has no direct holdings or investments there, and seems primarily interested in the exportation of goods and material from the Golden Circle, rather than importation or direct investment. His primary concern seems to be a rather sophisticated chain of Depositories throughout Shadow, and most recently, in Amber…wherein one could deposit goods and cash, have their cash or goods held safely, in exchange for a line of credit good anywhere there is a branch office. This allows even the wealthiest noble or merchant, to travel without fear of robbery, or the more worrisome seizing of one’s priceless artifacts by one’s own government. This has placed a vast amount of capital at Niccolo’s disposal, and has led to many a noble or merchant becoming indebted to the Cornaran businessman.

Niccolo has recently come to Amber at the request of a prominent fellow Cornaran, whose recent business ventures have expanded enough to afford his supposedly extravagant fees. Petra, of the Ramblin’ Queen, has invited him for an extended stay aboard the boat in order for him to function as her Investment Consultant.

Trump Description:

His violet gaze stares intensely out at you from the surface of the card, their unusual hue almost unfailingly drawing the eye of the viewer. He is dressed in a perfectly tailored black suit, and black shirt, and despite their apparent quality, he wears them as casually as another man might wear a t-shirt. Wisps of smoke float into the air in a ghostly plume, as the image captures him in the midst of exhaling with only the slightest parting of his lips, a small cigar held between his fingers with the ease of a man accustomed to the exercise of his vices. His skin holds a mild tan, which at once accentuates the clarity and health of it, and renders his lilac eyes all the more striking. His face bears all the classic signs of genetic good fortune; sensual and slightly curved, as if made to smile, masculine lips…a well formed, just slightly less than Roman nose…a strong jaw line, and bone structure that people pay fortunes to artificially acquire in some Shadows. His hair is cut relatively short, and is as black as his suit, though with that slight bluish sheen that suggests nature’s gift, rather than vanity.

There is the hazy impression of money changing hands behind him, the form of currency both paper and coin. Mingled with the view of an elegant villa, and the subject Himself, in impeccable suits, in his office or the office of others.

His name is Niccolo d’Medici.
