Better to win by admitting my sin than to lose with a halo." -Evita Peron, Evita Islain is the daughter of Queen Moire of Rebma and Prince Eric of Amber. Breathtakingly beautiful with her large jade green eyes, pale olive complexion, and blue-black curls, Islain is one of those women who are rarely popular with others of her sex. She is vindictive, manipulative, brilliant, daring and deadly. Strangely for a woman of her interests and talents, Islain has only ever been jealous of two people's attentions: those of her parents, and most especially those of Eric. As far as lovers go (and she's had many) she is open to anything in a relationship. The presence of an equally or more beautiful woman will not cause Islain to ruffle a feather, since her self-concern has been honed to a point where she is so confident in her own abilities no other person can touch that reserve. Once a force to be reckoned with in Amber, she has not returned to court since the Chaosian takeover. Rather she has consolidated her power base in Rebma and its surrounding states, until recently (and perhaps to get her out from underfoot) Moire sent her to Julian in Arden. There were many whispers about what a court-bred diplomat like Islain was going to do in a military camp, and now there are an abundance of shocked whispers about what she is doing. Most include Julian in a less than avuncular position. |
