ChadwickIndex | Time Under Chaos | Non-Player Characters | Flora | Chadwick Chadwick Thargood: Snugglebunny http://www.gweep.net/~hyacinth/amber/tuc/chadwick_trump.html Character originated by Tomus
Chadwick, son of Flora, has spent his brief life under the very protective gaze of his mother. This has resulted in a very trusting outlook. While he has had adventures in the shadow of Haraden, none of them would be beyond what might be considered "childish fantasy" by all but the most simple of heart and mind. The Shadow of Haraden is idyllic and full of fairies, non-threatening dragons, and nature spirits. While walking around naked is considered natural for the non-humans, it is taboo for the one human living there: Chadwick. He is to wear loose fitting shirts around the house, and armor of varying sorts when he goes out. As a result he doesn't get out much even in the one shadow. With a variety of books and tools about his manor he has studied many things on an academic level, and practiced to the best of his ability in the arts and medicine. His mother has insisted that he learn to throw knives and potatoes, but he's yet to see a use for either. He has a friend his mother doesn't seem to be aware of in Ilsyana, the wood sprite. He is known by a few to make trumps of good quality, but his sketches are more aesthetically pleasing than his paintings. Chad has been in Amber, intermittently, these past 4 years. All of this time is at his Mother's insistence, and no one has seen him not acquiesce to her requests. In this time he has become known as a magician of incredibly marginal talent, seeming to possess merely the ability to create trumps using sorcery only... no spells have actually been cast. While time in Amber is usually enough to infect the most innocent of minds, Flora has done a commendable job of keeping her son as innocent as possible. She has locked him in towers, magically blocked his ears, and, on one infamous occassion, teleported the lady Aria, in order to keep Chadwick pure of heart and... untouched. During the last 3 years, there have been numerous trips to Rebma. It has been suggested, of course, that Flora has a purpose in all of this... but no one has voiced what that might be. |
