With a parting smile, Petra shows herself out and hunts down someone to show her where to find Mandor.

He was, a footman informed her, in the throne room.

With rather less confidence he asked if Petra would like him to announce her.

Petra paused to consider. She supposed she *could* and give him her title from Cornaro as she didn't have one here. Not that she was aware of at any rate. But what would it prove? Nothing of value really, and it was a bit silly to flaunt foriegn titles about. She instead gave the footman a brilliant smile.

"No, graci. I will show myself in. Is he alone?"

"I believe so," said the footman. He sounded a little doubtful as he opened the door to Amber's great throne room.

It was, it seemed, deserted.

She bit back a sigh. She did not have time for this. Petra had a business to run, and it was not chasing down annoying men who couldn't be where they were supposed to be, or wouldn't know the truth of it were a fish that bit them on the nose. Honestly. Vincenzo should start a school and train everyone's staff. She was beginning to think hers was the only competent one in Amber that wasn't employed by Ingrey.

Petra turned to look archly at the footman. "You have *misplaced* the Prime Minister?" she asked mildly. "Tsk."

She looked at her watch and then back to the footman. She stepped into his personal space with a beguiling smile. "It is imperative that I speak to Mandor," she said. Petra casually flicked a spot of lint from the man's shoulder with a fingertip. " You will find him and let him know that a Ms. Rossi is requesting the *honor* of his presence on a matter of grave importance and time is of the essence, but I cannot wait all afternoon." She stepped back and gestured him off with a flick of her hand. "You have five minutes in which I will wait here. Shoo."

The footman shot her a slightly worried look and departed.

"So urgent to find me," said Mandor, strolling out from behind the thrones. "I trust I should count myself flattered. Will you join me for tea? I expect some guests shortly, but the exigencies of your visit clearly demand my attention now."

He studied her appearance with a gleam of appreciation in his odd coloured eyes. "After all, you have made such an effort."

She smiled at the welcome sight of him and sauntered over to join him. "Ah, Mandor," Petra responded in velvety tones. "If only all men responded to my summons so promptly. I should think of a way to reward you."

Petra hadn't dressed for Mandor, obviously. She was dressed for work. She rarely dressed to please anyone but herself even then. But it was still good to know it was appreciated by someone besides the usual suspects on the Queen. She had just enough vanity to care about that.

"Tea with you sounds just lovely. I know what a busy man you are, so I promise not to take up too much of your time. But I heard something that might interest you, and I thought since I was already missing that charming wit of yours, that this was better then a note, or one of your little messenger boys."
