Anga CorrinoIndex | Time Under Chaos | Non-Player Characters | Non-Canonical NPCs | Anga Corrino Gossip-monger and raconteuse, Anga Corrino can usually be found at a table on the deck of a waterside bar adjacent to the sword-dancing grounds. Brash and brassy, she is free with her opinions, and her information can usually be bought for a drink or on a barter basis. This character was invented for a speaking cameo part to give some information about Delluth and Jerusha to Helena and Claudio, but time considerations made it impossible to include the actual scene. Instead, TUC is pleased to present a dialogue summary of it: "What's the story about Jerusha Corrino and her father? Helena, dahling, it's been ages since anybody cared about that! But if you really want to know ..." Anga shook her head. "It's a sad, sordid little story - calls for a drink, don't you think? Thank you, dahling. Ah, that's good. Now, the story. First of all, you know they're adopted, right? No? I thought everybody knew that. He *insists* on keeping his old House name - you weren't introduced formally, were you. Right. So you wouldn't know. He's really Delluth Telutci Corrino if you're being formal. Dell if you're not." She winked broadly. "Such a nice man, and so good with his hands. Or so I hear, that is. "Anyway, dahling, when he was very very young he fell in love with a demon. Yes, that's right. His family kept it quiet - nobody knew a thing about it until afterward. That's after House Telutci got destroyed in some war or other. Whatever it was about doesn't even matter any more, isn't that sad? So it seems his pet demon was at home for some reason, and she went with all the rest, and then he came back from somewhere in Shadow, obviously, with little Jerusha in tow. And the Duke - this was before the old Emperor popped off, you understand - the Duke adopted them with the other three or four survivors. Very generous of him, I always say. What's that? Why doesn't she get along with her father? Don't know, really. She's a cold one, a natural ascetic, and maybe that's all it is. Even after the way he doted on her when she was a little girl --!" She rolled her eyes and took a long pull at her drink. "Hard to believe she's related to a sensualist like Delluth. Now, Helena, dahling, what's this I hear about you splitting up with Amba?" [Helena asks Anga if she knows why the Duke adopted them.] "I don't know why, dahling, though of course Delluth was already a Logrus Master - he essayed it quite young, you know, obviously before any of this happened. And it's turned out to be a good investment, I think, even if he does insist on gadding about in Shadow all the time and even moving to Amber, of all places! Begging your pardon, Helena. So you and Pavlo here are just having a good time, is that it?" |
