As a hidden third party in a trump link, background effects can be manipulated through changes of lighting and environment. While invasive effects like making someone appear to do something they are not cannot be achieved, more subtle effects are possible. So, using an earlier example, the man standing in a pub talking casually might appear to be standing in pools of a prisoner's blood. The key to success is to mark the illusion a believable reality; overstepping the mark will destroy the effect completely. As a tool to further suspicion, however, it can be potent.
