The rumor is that Annora Wray got her position as representative of Variath in Amber by sleeping with King Sebastian. This is undoubtedly true, but as all representatives of Variath sleep with King Sebastian, it should not be held against her.

Annora is a down-to-earth, laid-back and extremely competent woman. She is politically savvy, charming and non-offensive most of the time, and known to be deadly with a knife or her famous pen. If Annora Wray writes an article about you, it will immediately be circulated across shadow and you will find your tiny little lisp being imitated poorly in courts across the Golden Circle.

She also knows how to use her good looks and open sexuality to her own advantage, and it is common knowledge she has bedded many of Merlin's friends (and probably Merlin himself).

Annora is open and honest about this, and its hard to dislike her for it, or much of anything else for that matter. A woman without a political agenda besides keeping Variath safe and in the king's (and Mandor') graces, Wray is something of a breath of fresh air in the court.
