(Knight of Shadows) Spikards are spell engines of great antiquity, possibly related in some way to the artefacts Greyswandir and Werewindle. As such they are greatly sought after, though they are of such potency that only the most skilled sorcerer can hope to wield their power and not be utterly consumed by it. According to Corwin their presence is necessarily disturbing, "adding to the general power of Chaos just by virtue of their presence at this pole of existence." Their current number and whereabouts are unknown, but it is thought their power was instrumental in Amber's downfall. |
