DunlinsIndex | Time Under Chaos | Settings | Shadows of Note | Haraden | Dunlins Dunlins are the natural residents of Haraden. Other sentients that frequent that shadow are visitors only. Dunlins average adult height ranges from 7.5 feet to 9 feet, with males being the taller of the two genders. Regardless of height, they tend to be weaker than humans. Both of these are the result of a lower gravity in Haraden than on Earth?. This has resulted in a lower density, which results in everything seeming less real there than in some other shadows that are even closer to Chaos. The local Dragon, Skald?, takes full advantage of this, when he deems it necessary. As was noted, he has a higher density and is significantly stronger than any Dunlin. While Chadwick was present in Haraden he was kept in check, as Amberites are far stronger than humans. Chadwick was not stronger than the dragon, but was capable of defeating it. The Dunlins are well known for their gardening, which is a key feature of any Dunlin town. They are not known to war, nor to perpetrate violence upon others. Women have fairly traditional names ("Elsa") and men have descriptive names (i.e. "Edgewhittle"). They do eat meat, but hunting is usually only a last resort. The animals frequently fall for the traps that the Dunlins use. Children are often found playing Hide-and-seek in the orchards. Houses are frequently decorated with short, flowering shrubs. |
