First Impressions: Between the smoke and ash and heat from a dozen forges and the constant banging of metal on anvils, your senses are constantly under assault. Horses and carts fill the streets, moving the heavy iron and steel products produced by the skilled blacksmiths and laborers to their destination. Sawdust and stone-chips litter the street, while people constantly shout. And in the distance, the God Forge’s smoke stacks spew toxic fumes. Fortunately, the constant sea breeze keeps the air relatively clean, considering.
Social Class: Middle
Key Personalities: Master Hephaestus III
The majority of Amber City’s blacksmiths and carpenters have set up shop in the Clamor Smoke Ward. The reason for the name is obvious; the incessant din of hammers mixed with the choking smoke of dozens of forges and kilns. At the center of the ward is the God Forge, a hideous edifice of stone and metal that serves as the center of operations for the Architects. The craftsmen here work hard and produce some of the finest metal- and woodwork known to man. Because of the constant risk of fire, Clamor Smoke also has some of the best fire-retardant systems in the city, including hand-operated pressure hoses on every corner. The tradesmen here have a close connection to the tradesmen in Tattersail. These two Wards frequently vote together on city issues, making their ombudsmen very influential (not to mention rich).
