There are three main settings for the opening phase of the game:

• Castle Holdfast, the ancient seat of House Hardy
• Clearwater, the fortified manor house belonging to the new House Draupaud
• The village of Marshend

Additional settings that are seen include

• White Harbor, Seat of House Manderly, whose heir Ser Corryn Manderly is often in Castle Holdfast
