Thread 1: Carpe Riddler
Since his escape from Arkham,
Riddler has been busily preparing for the millennium. A number
of perculiar thefts have been made, and the Emerald ENigma has
produced a number of scandalous pirate TV shows. One of these
features the former mafia whore Selina Kyle in flagrante delicto
with the City Mayor, and her incensed fiance, Peter Parker,
goes in search of Riddler - and revenge. Tracking him down to
an abandoned theatre, Spidey trips a booby-trap, and the whole
building comes crashing down around him. Meanwhile, having escaped
from the mad doctor who stole her unborn twins, Selina teams
up with Detective Fox to find Parker. They get to the theatre
but find nothing. Either Parker got out in time, or someone-or
something- has stolen his body. In the mood for revenge, Selina
and Fox decrypt Parker's notebook and set off on the Riddler's
scent.
Thread 2: The Gotham Ripper
Mordecai Block is a mafia
killer by trade, but when his latest victim turns out to be
a physicist who exposes the assassin to strange radiation he
develops the power to fade from view at will. He also gets a
new and even more twisted outlook on life, and starts to enjoy
his job a little TOO much. Returning to Gotham, he picks the
wrong set of kids to tackle and incurs the wrath of the New
Justice League. Nightwing, Robin, Black Canary, Tommy Monaghan,
Arsenal. But how to find and trap the Invisible Man? Maybe they
can use the help of Barbara Gordon, the FBI agent assigned to
the murders. But their Liason must tread carefully - Gordon
plays things by the book, and she doesn't like vigilantism.
Meanwhile Mordecai ups the ante and starts killing people on
live TV.
Thread 3: Night of the
Joker II
Following September's massacre,
the Joker is back - and this time he's planning things bigger,
better, bloodier. What could be better than ten tonnes of Smilex
over Gotham Plaza to make the millennium go with a bang. Not
that anyone's likely to see it of course - with all the pirate
transmissions bouncing around no-one'll be able to get the normal
channels... With the help of the intrepid Avengers duo, can
Batman work out what his arch-enemy is up to in time to save
the crowds? And if he does turn up, can he be sure that the
police will help him - or shoot him?
Thread 4: Retribution
Antonio may be the head
of Gotham's mafia, but he's still in trouble. Project Golden
River will make him unstoppable when it's complete, but right
now it threatens to bankrupt him. He knows of the advent of
his sister and her deadly japanese lover, and prays that the
Godfather will stay his hand for just a few more days. For then
many tonnes of kNarK will enter Gotham's water supply, together
with Serum A-240. And the number of addicts his factory supplies
will multiply ten thousandfold. Unbeknownest to him, la familia
are the least of Antonio's problems at the moment. For a nanite-powered
ninjitsu master battles ever closer, and the person Antonio
has bound in front of him is not Spiderman and will not react
quite the same way to the massive overdose of kNarK the don
plans to give him....
Thread 5: The Night Has
Two Faces
Two-Face has made a deal
with the devil for the means to get revenge on the system that
spawned him. At midnight on the millenium, a virus will be released
into the computer systems of the world that will completely
undo all of the careful preparations, plunging the world into
chaos! But has Two-Face made a deal with someone even worse
than he is?
Thread 6: Death and Rebirth
Rumours of war ripple through
the streets in the aftermath of the Night of the Joker. The
Insane Clown Posse have gone from being the terror of Gotham
to being it's favourite scapegoat. La Cosa Nostra wants them
wiped out, the police want the tried, and the other underworld
elements want them out of the way to turn down the heat. But
they have a powerful benefactor- will it be enough to remake
themselves?
Thread 7: Spiral Into
Madness
A copycat of the Gotham
Ripper is loose, and the GCPD has only a limited time to stop
him before the news becomes public. But is he a copycat, or
something else entirely?
