LlewellaIndex | Above Us The Waves? | Non-Player Characters | Llewella Llewella, Princess of Amber and RebmaNext was Llewella, whose hair matched her jade-colored eyes, dressed in shimmering gray and green with a lavender belt, and looking moist and sad. For some reason, I knew she was not like the rest of us. But she, too, was my sister. --Nine Princes in Amber Llewella, off in a corner, pretending to study a book, had her back to the rest of us, her green tresses bobbed a couple of inches above her dark collar. Whether her withdrawal involved animus, self-consciousness in her alienation, or simple caution, I could never be certain. Probably something of all these. Hers was not that familiar a presence in Amber. -- Sign of the Unicorn I studied the delicate green of her more than olive complexion, her full lips, her large catlike eyes. --Merlin, Sign of Chaos Llewella was the one of Oberon's daughters who never saw the point in playing games. Perhaps it was due to her different upbringing or to the security she felt as a princess of Rebma, with a safe place to retreat whenever the bickering and backbiting of sibling rivalry in Amber grew too much. Perhaps she was just a simpler, more direct woman than Flora or Deirdre or Fiona. She has always seemed happier in Rebma than in Amber. Corwin guesses this may be due to a discomfort related with being not quite like the other sons and daughters of Oberon, but Llewella maintains it is simply a personal and aesthetic choice. She has, after all, been more than willing to speak, deal and even fight alongside her landbound relatives. It is simply that the quieter, more dreamlike court of Rebma satisfies her, whereas Amber makes her uncomfortable and some of her relatives make her combative. Llewella's lack of political interest can almost seem a rejection at times. Whether or not this is intentional, she is a strong, straightforward woman who is willing to work with anyone and everyone to keep the universe balanced and strong. Mysterious? Llewella would laugh, though others find the comment unnervingly close to home. No one really knows what Llewella's skills or powers or areas of expertise really are, outside of Rebma. A skillful survival trait in a realm of specialists, don't you think? Llewella is played by Fiona Apple |
