As a GM I believe Tabletop RPGs are not necessarily about "winning" the game, although combat is one of my favourite things. The story we tell together is a collaboration. I do have plans, and hooks, and a BBEG (Big Bad Evil Guy) to introduce, but I do not run a railroad game, so as the party makes decisions, I adjust.

I have been known to scrap maps, kill off sidekicks, and invent new villains - all based off the decisions the party makes. So, the direction the party takes, and the adventures we have together are not preordained.

I do expect the party to work together and not against each other, but I know there will be disagreements, and possibly conflict within the party, but ultimately you are a team working together, so no PVP is usually acceptable unless fitting to the story and pre-approved by the GM and both parties.

The world is a homebrew, and developing as we progress, but major cities are already designed and available for the party if they so wish to travel to them. As a Party you should make goals and decide what pursuits you want to endeavour toward. I will be constantly, behind the scenes, adjusting things, but you are the primary story tellers and deciders, I am just the circus director.

I am ok with discussion things out of character, but do not like meta gaming, so please rely heavily on what your character knows and not what you the player know when making decisions in character.

Regarding rules, I like to stick to the rules, and make all the rolls out in the open, but I will not sacrifice rules lawyer-ing for speed, if things get bogged down I will make a GM Fiat ruling for or against such rules to get things moving again. I do not do it often, but it is a handy tool for a GM to be able to keep the story going, and not let things get too picky that are not important. That said, if I make a mistake regarding the rules Please feel free to call me on it, I am not perfect at being a GM.

Regarding rolls, as said, I like to make all the rolls out in the open in Roll 20, but there are times I will roll in secret for reasons.

Regarding death, it may happen. I will not actively be trying to kill you in encounters, but if it does happen, I will try and make it meaningful and with purpose. As a GM I do not see myself as against the party, so I try not to be adversarial except when roleplaying NPCs that are adversarial. I will try not to meta game the NPC or Villains and will try to always have a reason or explanation why they know what they know. I have learned not to get attached to any of my NPCs so do not feel bad if you end up killing any of them – again story is more important to me.

I like to run a session Zero to create, finish, polish, and/or introduce characters of the party. We will need to learn a bit about them and find a reason they are all working together. I like the party to assume they are already a party, and then develop from there.

Once you are in Roll20 I will assign you a few character sheets to start make a character. I am happy to assist, guide and help anyone, and if you have experience with Pathfinder feel free to assist each other as well. You do not have to wait until session zero to create a character or an idea for one.

Generally I like there to be balance in the roles of the party, but honestly if everyone was a Wizard, or everyone was a Rogue, I can still work with that and we can have fun, so generally I tell players to play the character they want to be in game and not worry about balancing the party. I can balance the encounters based on the strengths and weaknesses of the party
