2014William, Dominic, Blake, Sebastev, Loki are all back. New characters
Important notesCorwin signed the previous treaty with Ghenesh. Battle at Deirdre's PalaceEveryone is at the party at Deirede's cliffside palace at the head of the Vale of Garnath. Dierdre is mustering the guard. She comes down stairs armed and dressed for battle. Eric and Corwin have already left. The Byzantine ambassador and several other nobles are still present. The Ghenesians are starting to assault the house. They have penetrated the house in two groups, one of 2 one of 3. Dierdre sends some black stuff out from her gauntlet and spears a Gheneshian through a tree then comes back inside. she gives orders to Blake and Patryse to go stop the group of 2 and Loki and Gwen to stop the group of 3. Loki and Gwen see one of their 3 trying to summon a djinn but having problems. Combat ensues at all locations. Some servants die. Dierdre grills Sebastev. She tells him to do whatever it takes to obscure or mess with the Ghenishian powers. Out front there there 75-100 of them in 3 groups. Sebastev does some magic and finds there are no normal spirits here. There are 3 unnatural things in the house. Dierdre orders him to help the guards in the rear. She spears another through the front door. Blake and Patryse find dead servants and 2 Ghenisians trying to move a magically encircled creature. Blake attacks and breaks the containment. The creature stumbles and strikes Blake who is blinded. "Thats unfortunate"- Patryse. She backs off. Blake tries to nullify the blindness and does so with a lot of difficulty. That scares the creature and it leaves. Ezikial moves Dominic's Physical Consequence to "Screaming Pain" mental stress instead by impaling him with his sword "Bloodletter" Sabastev helps the servants in the rear. Dominic goes upstairs and meets Patryse and Blake who have secured the windows and are returning. He has the servant bodies burned then goes to the backdoor to recover the guards there. Dierdre has him come back to the front door. She was trumping when the trump had problems, she goes looking for Brand. Patryse uses ravens to tell us how many are outside. There are 50 and they are bringing a battering ram. Blake gets a trump contact but it causes severe stress. Dierdre kicks Brand back into the main room and orders him to get her brothers. She tells William, Dominic and Ezikiel to assault the leadership at the door while she goes and kills the over all commander. The three exit the rear of the house. Ezikiel gets some zombies and sends them left around the house to attack the group at the door. As soon as they are distracted the 3 will attack the rear of the Gheneshians, and people on the second floor will pour oil down on the ram. Loki and Gwen fight a djinn. It attacks Loki's werewolf and starts eating it. Djinn and werewolf are killed. Shutters are closed. The attack at the door eliminate half of them. Loki uses magic to light oil as front attackers flee. Balcony is scorched by a flame elemental which turns on the door but Loki regains control of it. Flames erupt from the forest. Sebastev awakens the stone of the steps and knocks the attackers off them. The outside group attacks again. They are broken and retreat. Loki asks for wine. We order him to send the elemental after the retreating forces. Blake takes one out as it retreats on a moonbeam. Dierdre returns severely wounded. She tosses her spear to Gwen. Her gauntlet is gone. Dierdre wants to know why this happened. She ends up trumping Eric. AftermathBlake and William talk about the troops going to Madagascar. Blake goes looking for the Byzantine ambassador and finds him dead, poisoned. Blake investigates and brings in Loki to help. He was bitten by an asp right in a vein. Bleys is found upstairs in a room with a girl, he missed the entire attack and is unaware anything happened. Brand is hung over. Gwen makes some comments to Bleys. Dierdre is still in the room having a yell at Eric via trump. She has discussion with Bleys and tells him about the murder. She shows him the body. Bleys takes the trump and starts pulling Eric troops through it into the main room. Dierdre thanks us and offers us a reward and says she will suggest a commendation for us to Oberon. Dierdre tells Dominc to go to the king of an audience over the Ghenesh matter and take her people with him. Brand and William trump to Anna's Coffee shop in Amber. They talk to Anna and William promises to use her for some catering. William goes home to change. The rest take a carriage from Dierdre's to the Castle. Amber CastleEveryone has arrived. The meeting time is iffy. Blake goes directly to his father Eric to get it set. He clarifies the reports from Madagascar and tells Eric about the assassination. Rather than a meeting Eric tells him to take everyone and go to the Pass of Kolvir to support Benedict. The Gheneshians have flanked us. Ezekial summons undead horses that speed up travel time to the pass by an hour. Patryse stays at the castle. Pass of KolvirBenedict is at the pass where only one person can come at him at a time. He has 3 men left but is fighting alone against the army on the other side. Domininc uses his axes to drop some rubble from above to give Benedict some aid. Loki summons some rock throwers. Blake and William climb opposite cliffs above the pass to shoot down at the attackers. Gwen, Dominic and Ezikial swap occasionally with Benedict to give him some rest. More Amber troops arrive. The battle continues through the night into the next day. By mid-morning everyone is tiring. Benedict sets up a better schedule. In mid-afternoon the Amber army arrives and the counter attack starts. At night the Gheneshians retreat. Benedict plans to assault Ghenesh. William offers his house troops. William loans a trump of Madagascar to Dominic, he will lead the forces there into Ghenesh while Benedicts army arrives by other means. Sebastev, and Ezikial are with Dominic. Gwen, William, Loki and Blake with Benedict. MadagascarDominic summons the Bright Ones to go and fight the dark. The demand the betrothal of Dominics first born to their leaders daughter. He is given a power potion to drink on his wedding night and the child needs to be born within 10 years. Loki marks some troops with his blood. Sebastev gets the oral tradition of how the Gheneshians were beaten before. Dierdre announces that William, Ezikiel and Patryse are on retainer to he and to watch over Dominic. The Madacascar forces meet Benedict at the northern port, north of Madagascar. The Bright Ones also arrive. Attacking GhenseshThere is crashing in are the mtns, glaciers coming down. There are ice Giants. We ride out across the tundra, the cold gets less bitter and we cross an ice shelf, the stars change. There is a lot of disorientation. We enter some plains. "Welcome to Ghenesh". An oasis scared to the moon goddess will be rendered into sand by the Bright Ones. The rest of the army splits in two, we will break their supply chain and burn several cities then meet at the capitol in exactly 3 days. The plan is to apply enough pressure the emperor will sue for peace but it will not be granted to him. Patryse notices a woman in Benedicts tent that is not a part of the army. The Bright Ones do their part and go home. The rest of the army arrives at the captiol and storm it. The Emperor does ask for peace but Benedict demands unconditional surrender and the throne. Fiona appears and does something to the throne we all get the feeling we never want to live here. We return to Madagascar by trump. There is no more northern pass. People don't even remember it and the maps are changed. There are several successful functional villages and a positive trade balance with Amber now becuase there never was a Ghenesh. Dominic has a private dinner with Dierdre and Oberon. They set up some trade arrangements if certain goals are met within 5 years. Patrys is made the Master of Ceremonies. Other titles are passed out. Loki is banished from Madagascar as long as he has the orb but he hands it over it is verified it is inert and given back. Sebastav thinks he can activate it. Loki performs an experiment and creates a new portal. There is rumbling from the other side of the pass to the Sorcerer Kings lands. |
