Ser Corryn ManderlyIndex | HomePage | PlayerCharacters | SerCorrynManderly The River Wolf. The Kelpie Prince. The Knife-Walker. Ser Corryn Edward Manderly has been called many things; the majority of which are muttered behind his back. Not that he cares one whit about his unsavory reputation amongst the northern courts. If anything, he encourages the tall tales regarding his excesses and misdeeds. High-spirited and cunning, he has drunk Drowned Men under the table and courted the Sand-snakes of Dorne. It is said Ser Manderly’s love for the water is only matched by his adulation for women; an affection which has, in of itself, fueled a great deal of local gossip. Because of his constant dealings along the White Knife, there are few courts that haven’t experienced (suffered) his untamed personality. Despite his unruly nature, Corryn is unquestionably loyal to his family and possesses an odd sense of chivalry. The former has led to his well-known feud with Ser Anders Tollet. When Anders attempted to drunkenly force himself upon the Lady Alys Karstark during a celebration at Holdfast, Corryn beat the man within an inch of his life. Their undying hatred has continued since that time and they regularly match off at tournaments. This feud hasn’t endeared Corryn with Lady Hardy, Ser Tollet’s sister. Corryn’s father, Ser Marlon Manderly, Guardian of White Harbor, currently has his son shipping trade goods and supplies to the northern reaches of the Knife; in particularly with Houses Hardy and Draupaud. Many believe his original intention was to let the river’s freezing waters cool his son’s blood. Unfortunately, this plan has done little to ebb Corryn’s boisterousness and he has taken to the Knife like an otter; hence his most common nickname, “River Wolf.” Instead, Ser Manderly is now trying to marry his son off to bind one of the minor Houses to White Harbor. |
