Little is known in Amber about the circumstances of his adoption, though there are rumors that he aided the escape of allies of that House from a dark and perilous realm into which they had unwisely penetrated. It was also made clear to the University administration when he was admitted that Temnal is a friend of Lord Gaynor Chanicut, Heir to the House, who may be presumed to take an interest in his welfare. General Information: Temnal is known to be an exceptional student, and can often be found either in the library or the laboratories when not in class. Though fluent in Thari, he speaks it with a slight, unplaceable accent. He has an almost childlike curiosity about everyone and everything around him, and is in addition an avid reader.
