Seasons of Our Discontent

An Amber PBeM Game

“Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this son of Barimen;
And all the clouds that lowered upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths,
Our bruisèd arms hung up for monuments,
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings,
Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.
Grim-visaged war hath smoothed his wrinklèd front.”

“I am determined to prove a villain...”

This game is set one year after the triumph of Amber at the Abyssal Plains in Chaos, and with the exception that Eric survived his wounds and was anointed King instead of Random, the game is Corwin-series-canon. The campaign hopes to take a page from Shakespeare's play Richard III. In the story, apparent victory and hard-won peace have turned sour, and the exuberance of glory fades into memory. An undercurrent of ill temper begins to stir among those who were formerly allied together. Peace may be at hand, but how long will it last?
