Often silent and eerily observant, Maple seems to know more than someone in her position should. Her attitude ranges from sharp to subservient, depending on the company she is in.

History:

Maple is a former slave to the Mauns. She was freed to marry Gallfrey, the Second Minister of Aquila and himself a former slave of Anderon. Gallfrey is perhaps the only person who knows that she is actually Nerina Maun, the twin sister of former Duke Atropos Maun.
Maple had one child by Gallfrey. She never had the need or want to remarry.
Delan, Lord Anderon, gave Maple a pension that was due to Gallfrey. When the Regent enacted the legislation to abolish slavery, Maple gave of her time and money to the Citizens’ Advocates, helping the former slaves adapt to life as citizens. Although the abolition legislation was completed over 10 years ago, Maple remains active in the name of the committee, maintaining contacts and monitoring their treatment by their former owners, now employers.
Maple struck up a friendship with Xanda de Corven. When Xanda was named Provost of the Women’s College, she offered Maple the opportunity to be Domestic Dean. Maple accepted, glad to be independent from Anderon.

Skills:

Gathering information
Blending into the background, going unnoticed / ignored
Running of a household

Disadvantages:

Maple is not very social. In social situations, she says very little.
Being raised without parents, Maple is not maternal to her own child.
She lives in an awkward position of being between the nobility and servants. Neither group seems comfortable having her around.
Maple seems to have no goals or desires for her life. She mainly reacts to her surroundings rather than taking much initiative to shape her future.
