Theodore Theodore CardovanTheodore "Teddy" Cardovan is the oldest child and only son of Earl Demetri and of the Cardovan line. Unlike his sisters and cousins, who have reputations as being gorgeous but fairly brain-dead, Teddy (so nicknamed by his stepmother), is known to be a brilliant strategist, a career soldier and a great officer. When Teddy joined the army, it was against the strenuous objections of his father, who wanted him to learn how to manage the family business. As a compromise, Teddy joined the reserves, so that he was able to learn to fight and command while still remaining in Amber where he could join his mother's get-togethers and study the Cardovan trade at the same time. Amazingly, this multi-tasking has never seemed to be too much for Teddy, who has proven not only to be good at strategy, but also to be politically savvy and charming. This is not to say that Teddy has no faults - he can be sarcastic, even cruel, he tends to use women, and no one can be sure quite what his plans are. |
