He'd thought the morning sun through the windowed room would give him incentive enough for an early start, but between fantastic nightmares of animated clay corpses with his face on them, and the lack of sleep over the past few nights, he found himself waking to sounds of stirring in the adjoining common area. Rousing himself, not only was Maya awake, looking at him with a faintly amused air, but Satonaka was sitting at the table with Anya, apparently deep in some conversation with the other woman. <Someone kill me now,> he thought morosely, trying to ignore the questioning glances as he poured himself a cup of coffee. |
