Jacob Carlysle Jacob Carlysle is third son to Rurick and Nerissa Carlysle, his older brothers Nicholas Carlysle and Daniel. Sensitive and quiet, Jacob was often overlooked in the long shadows his two older brothers cast. Jacob entered the military when he came of age as was required by males in House Carlysle, as did his brothers, and trained as a soldier-medic. Circumstances involving Daniel's death in battle, which Jacob was there to witness, led him to further his medical training and become a combat surgeon. Jacob became more quiet than usual after Daniel died and refused to talk about exactly what happened when he found Daniel on the battelfield. He found release from his personal demons in gambling, and became as sharp in cards as he was as a surgeon. Though he often disagrees with Nicholas and has no qualms in telling him exactly what he thinks, when the situation gets tense he always has Nicholas's back. They are brothers, after all. Now on military furlough, Jacob is considering whether to continue in the military or settle back on Aquila. He's seeking purpose in life beyond guns and death, but isn't sure doctoring on backwards Aquila will satisfy him. |
