The following rules are different than standard for the Source Material.

  1. If using weapons that are frangible, on a roll of natural one, the character does not have to accept the miss. Instead, another roll can be made, but if that roll is failed, the item breaks.
  2. Weapons constructed from frangible materials that are not crafted by a weapon smith suffer penalties as shown on the weapon penalties table below.
  3. Preserving and Defiling both involve pulling essence from the surroundings; preservers put back what is not the bare minimum needed to power the spell, while defilers put all that they give into the spell. But that pull is there, and can be sensed by other arcane power users in range. The difficulty in sensing such is based upon the level of the spell, and the distance of the person attempting to sense it.
