2012There were 3 new characters Geordi Mcgarh (Seth), Loki (Craig Leibowitz), and Richard Ricardo (Bryan Baily). Returning were Dominic, William, Sebastev, Blake, and Gerard. The Ghenshans are still holding Northtown. Loki is granted asylum by Dominic. Dominic also hire Richard Ricardo and his fleet with promises of future land and treasure. 7 ships to transport 8-10k troops from Amber to Madagascar in return for gold, land and other resources. Gerard and Loki are sent north to unite the tribes there. Ricardo and Blake will go with them for introductions then proceed to Amber. There they will arrange treaties and bring back Dierdre's troops. Gerard is given 200 men to conduct hit and run attacks on the Gheneshans. We discover that Ricardo has a price on his head in Amber. Geordi does some sorcery to get more information in the Gheneshan abilities. He discovers they are a splinter group from Tir. They are very insular. When Oberon made a deal with the Queen of Tir they broke off and went out on their own. Blake and Loki do some magic experiments with Loki's creatures. The Fleet Ricardo's fleet is attacked by Black Pirates. The Black ships are galleons with shredded sails that can sail against the wind. The fleet heads towards the rocks to avoid the pirates. They use Loki's magic to avoid the rocks and send magical minions to destroy the pirate ships from underwater but the ships are already full of holes and more dont slow them down. The Captain on the lead ship has some kind of dark power and takes the minions himself to man his own rigging. Close combat ensues. Blake crosses over to the pirate ship but goes into the drink to avoid being filled full of crossbow bolts. Loki attacks the main pirate with magic and the sky clear momentarily. Kingstown Meanwhile Dominic gets an invitation to the midsummers dance and will need to return to Amber early for tailoring. We have the tailor come to Madagascar for the initial measurements. After Sebastev's second report William tries to trump Blake and pass Geordi through to them. Resources of the kingdom include sliver, gems, rubys and sapphires. We need an engineer the silver is odd. The kingdom is getting more organized. Sawmill town is relocated away from the forest. We receive reports that the sorcerer king is preparing to blow up the pass. The passes north are expanding to Ghenesh and the lad near them is becoming desert. The North Loki and Sebastev move north and get reports that Northtown is just gone. The spirits claim it never existed. The mountains seem closer than before. The moon is out (and it shouldnt be) it wasnt there this morning. They also investigate a small town over the hill. The pass into Ghenesh is wider. They return to report. Within a certain range of the mtns the moon is always visible. Crossing a smaller pass they find the far side is a desert with roads to oasis and a savannah in the distance. Everything seems to be moving closer. Sebastev talks to the spirits who claim they are moving because they should, they are moving away from the stuff coming. They return and report that by midsummer the kingdom will be overrun. Gerard Gerard manages to unite the northern tribes. Furs can be collected there as a source of income. 1/3 consolidated. Amber Geordi arrives in Amber and goes to the library. He watches Oberon do something. The silver sent from Madagascar is assessed at 100 sovereigns/pound. We get 3000 sovereigns and a letter of credit. We are granted a Royal mining commission. We may be able to mine 1 ton of metal. Miners and engineers are hired. Ricardo's Report On route to the tribal people up the coast we came across 4 death world ships. Taking to the risky route along the shallow waters, 2 ships follow while 2 remain in deeper waters. Death ships are bigger and faster than our ships. Their ships have 3 rows of Cannons as well as a row of plank that fall away to a row of archers in preparation for the 'swinging Blake' maneuver. Ships are completely dependent on magic to move and stay together. Loki performed a sunburst effect with his orb on the captain of the black ships, which he then flung his sword into the water in which caused the main vessel to fall apart. Three ships are in Cavetown for repairs. Two for dmg to hull from the rocks and the third from heavy cannon fire from the lead black ships 'drop anchor turn' maneuver. Geordi & Gerard head to the library, Loki and Blake, Richard to Amber. --- note on Loki - Craig remembers his name as "Rathe", but might be confused. |
