Decuma's status in regard to the Dukedom is therefore held to be dubious. He was born shortly after his half-brother Harry, and immediately christened with the names that the dying Atropos had instructed his heir should bear. As a child, he was brought up to believe that he was the rightful Duke, although his mother at that time made no attempt to press the claim.
